About The Crafters and Creations Events

The Crafters and Creations Events brings crafters, creators, and small businesses together through organized vendor events where they can showcase their products and get their businesses in front of more people.
Our events welcome a variety of creative businesses and products, with opportunities for both experienced vendors and those getting ready to participate in their first show.
And behind the events is someone who knows what it's like to be on the vendor side of the table.

Hey, I'm Talena 💕
I'm a longtime entrepreneur, author, Business Strategy Coach for Makers — and a crafter too.
For 38 years, I've been building businesses and turning ideas into income. Along the way, I've created and sold my own products, participated in craft shows as a vendor, owned a brick-and-mortar shop, and wrote a book about navigating the craft show world.
So when I'm planning an event, I'm not only looking at it from the promoter's side

I've Been on the Vendor Side, Too
I know there's a lot more to doing a craft show than showing up that morning and putting products on a table.
I've packed products, loaded the car, planned booth displays, set everything up, spent the day talking with customers, and packed it all back up again when the show was over.
I've also made that decision every vendor has to make: Is this a show I want to invest my time and money in?
That experience is something I bring with me to The Crafters and Creations Events.
I know clear information, communication, organization, and promotion matter because I've been the vendor waiting for those things too.
A Few Shows I've Participated In
Here are a few moments from some of the craft shows and vendor events I've participated in over the years.

From a Dream to My Own Gift Shop

Have you ever had a dream that felt just out of reach?
That was me years ago. I remember walking into a small gift shop and being completely mesmerized by the idea of owning one of my own. I loved everything about it, but at the time, having my own shop felt a little impossible.
Still, my mom's words were always in the back of my mind: “Never give up.”
So I didn't.
Years later, I opened my very own gift shop.
Owning that shop taught me so much about running a product-based business — choosing products, creating displays, connecting with customers, marketing, trying new ideas, and figuring things out as I went.
It also gave me an even greater appreciation for the work that goes into getting a product from an idea into the hands of a customer.
That experience is another part of what I bring with me to The Crafters and Creations Events. I've experienced selling from different sides of the business — as a crafter, a craft show vendor, and a brick-and-mortar shop owner.
And each experience has taught me something I still carry with me today.

Here’s a little throwback to my shop days — I was totally obsessed with the color mustard! 😂 Looking back, it reminds me how every stage of business (even the messy ones) prepares you for the next.

Sharing What I've Learned

My experience as a crafter and craft show vendor eventually led me to write Breaking into the Craft Show Circuit.
I wanted to share what I'd learned along the way and help other crafters better understand what goes into preparing for and participating in craft shows.
Writing the book gave me another way to take my own experiences and use them to support others stepping into the craft show world.
